Since we already have this thread we should use it for all thoughts helmet or glasses related.
I'm sure somebody has an issue or comment regarding the question Keith asked so have at it here.

I think fitzs’ logic is flawed

To my recollection Mike Collier has been the only player that has both worn a helmet/visor and also a pair of glasses.

Fitz has said he was worried that a player wearing a helmet and visor, said player would become more aggressive because they are “armoured”.
Well Mike went from helmet and visor to just eye wear. And I will have you know. He hasn’t changed how aggressive he is one bit!!
He’s still one of the more aggressive players in the league. I think maybe even went the other way and since he moved away from the helmet he’s become more physical.

I think any player that wants to wear a helmet and visor or glasses or an astronaut/moon mask they should be allowed to without judgement from Fitz or anyone else in the peanut gallery.
And if fitz or anyone else is concerned about heads clashing they should get off their wallets and buy a helmet and visor for them selves.

Speaking of flawed logic!
Maybe Collier didn't clip guys with his helmet, I really don't know. I know I've been clipped by others wearing helmets elsewhere, one of them is Pettigrew who used to wear a helmet.. So if I get hit by someone with a helmet it is my problem????
If that's the case then Ballstar has finally lost all touch with what it once was and I guess I will have to get a helmet if I want to keep playing and smash heads with everyone else.
As a goalie you are already armoured Mike. Before goalies had masks they didn't stick their face into sketchy situations for fear of injury. Not a perfect analogy but it changed how the game was played. Once everyone is wearing a helmet, collisions will increase because guys will be able to be less careful about their own head. It won't apply to every player but it will apply to most.

No offense intended but I think this has nothing to do with goalies who are not going to be jostling for position in tight quarters around the floor.

If guys get roughing penalties when they clip players with their helmets it could keep the collisions down but the collision still happens.

My 1st novella of the season and we haven't even drafted........hahaha

Last note, anyone who has played in leagues that require helmets has hit helmets with another player. Now picture that collision with only 1 helmet being worn.
I don't really want this league to have an 'armour' war but I'll deal with whatever happens.

I have played many games as a player, And I will tell you I have never seen two helmets collide. I’m trying to think right now if I have ever in my life seen two heads collide. With the force you are referring to.
I will also say. I would if I were playing ballstar hockey as a player. I would be wearing a helmet. Not worrying about helmet to head contact. But falling , the pillars, tables, glass doors, and Kenny.
But like you said my thoughts matter none in this debate because I already wear a mask. And I I guess I could play with out one because there is no rule on the books that forces me to. but that would be dumb of me. Maybe others should think the same way.

Well Mike, it doesn't need to be in the books as a penalty to be called a penalty....but that depends on who is reffing the game. ;)

I think we should worry less about who has a helmet on and ACTUALLY call penalties before things get out of hand on the floor. This always seems to be discussed every season, a couple emails will go out to start and throughout the year, but the calls are not being made consistently. I don't play out and run around, and yes I am all "armored up" haha, but it's not me I am worried about. Watching some of the games, especially in playoffs, things get heated and are not called. That is my 2 cents.
